Betsy Spellman (she/her)- Clarksburg, WV
Drawing on my life and work experiences in marketing, study of art in college at WVU, and early work as a graphic designer, I focus on abstract expressionist painting. I explore the processes and techniques of early abstract expressionists as well as contemporary artists. I incorporate mark making, gestural brushwork, layering and an intuitive process to create my work. I typically work on multiple pieces at once. Each piece is an original work in acrylic on canvas and includes marker, pencil, and oil pastel marks.
