Aldona Bird (she/her) of Made in the Mountains- Masontown, WV
Aldona studied in Pittsburgh and traveled abroad, before motherhood brought her home to Preston County. She started making stained glass after taking a community class in Morgantown, WV. She finds most of her inspiration from Appalachian nature – from ramps to native birds and beyond, much of her work represents her home ecosystem in the mountains of Preston County. In addition to home décor items, Aldona also makes jewelry, showcasing the beauty of the glass itself.
